A cheat this, in that D. Byrne and Co. hail from Clitheroe, rather than Accrington. But still, it is where Alwyn goes to select a few bottles of plonk as treats for (his) Christmas. It is, without fear of exaggeration, one of the finest places in the country for buying wine (and all other alcoholic beverages). Just watch your head as you go through the cellars. Oh, and if the wine doesn't have a price label you probably can't afford it.
