The Arndale Centre
The Arndale Centre was big news when Ken Dodd opened it in the 1980s. Famed for its mechanical clock and for Don Estelle's DJ stints in the early 90's (or did we just imagine this?) the shopping centre, not unreasonably, fails to stock the valve Alwyn requires to repair his antiquated radio.
